In mid 2014, the management team at Minshall Construction decided that they needed to find a new graphic design and creative advertising agency to help them create a new brochure design. National Sales Manager Hazel Ronson was tasked with finding a creative designer who understood the construction industry and agricultural sector.
Despite Minshall Construction being based in Shropshire, Hazel decided to expand her search for the perfect graphic designer to her native Lancashire. Avoiding larger, city centre based agencies, she kept her search focused on semi-rural areas, hoping to find a designer with a rural background and other construction industry clients. She found all of those traits in Quentin James.
After talking to several design agencies and following an positive initial meeting, Quentin James Design were asked to create a creative advertising campaign and brochure design for Minshall Construction. Additionally, there was a requirement for new business card designs and the design and print of a high specification document/presentation folder. This initial tranche of work had to be completed in a fairly short timeframe in order to promote their attendance at the annual LAMMA trade show.
LAMMA is the UK’s largest agricultural and machinery show and is an important showcase for Minshall Construction, as it is for many companies in the agricultural sector. Once the initial tranche of work was completed and delivered, we were then asked to update and improve their exhibition stand and supporting marketing materials, ready for the trade show.
Our designs focus on the existing Minshall Construction branding identity and its instantly recognisable ‘M’ logo. The new business cards were printed both sides on a high quality 450gsm silk ark board and then matt laminated both sides. To add an extra dimension, the iconic Minshall ‘M’ logo design was spot varnished to the face of the business cards. A similar treatment was applied to the new document folder which also incorporated clever slots in the document pocket to hold the matching business cards.
