The Languages of Star Wars Infographic Design

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

Rebel digital marketing agency Digitaloft needed a design Jedi to help them defeat the Galactic Empire and create an exciting, fun and informative Star Wars infographic design. The required infographic was for their client Matinée Multilingual, a voice talent agency, recording studios, video translation & subtitling company, based in Reading. The theme for the infographic was the languages of Star Wars and it’s publication was timed to coincide with the release of the full trailer for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

Both Digitaloft principal James Brockbank and our lead design Jedi Quentin James are massive Star Wars fans so this was the perfect project for the pair. James and the team at Digitaloft researched the most common Star Wars languages including Galactic Basic Standard, Bocce, Binary (Droidspeak), Ewokese and the Sith Language. They also compiled a list of main characters who speak each language.

“This was a really fun project to work on and I for one cannot wait for the theatrical release of the new movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Meanwhile, back on his home planet of Tatooine, design Jedi Quentin created icons and graphics inspired by the popular Sci-Fi saga. These were combined with a series of character designs sourced online and used under creative commons licence.

The perfectly timed publication of the Star Wars infographic design helped to earn great media coverage from a range of high profile online publications including:

Matinée Multilingual were delighted with the infographic design and the level of coverage which it generated for their business. Commenting on the project, Quentin said: “This was a really fun project to work on and I for one cannot wait for the theatrical release of the new movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

No Ewoks were harmed during the creation of this Star Wars infographic design, the Galactic Empire was defeated but the droids we were looking for, were sadly never found.
