We often provide graphic design services to other businesses in the creative sector, including Public Relations Agencies and Digital Agencies. When our friends and long-time collaborators Digitaloft recently asked for our help with an Annual Report Design project for the British Council and their INSPIRE programme in Bangladesh, we were delighted to get involved. INSPIRE, which stands for: ‘International Strategic Partnerships in Research and Education’ is a British Council funded project that aims to significantly strengthen the academic and research partnerships between the UK and a number of countries in Central South Asia, including: Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan.
The principal aim of INSPIRE is to support a transformational increase in the number and scope of Higher Education partnerships between the UK and universities in the Central South Asia region. Applications were invited for grant funding from UK Higher Education Institutions and CSA Partner institutions for a range of activities.
The programme in Bangladesh specifically aims to increase and offer:
Our design brief was to create and supply three separate graphic design elements for the annual report and impact assessment authored by the British Council in Bangladesh following on from the conclusion of the INSPIRE programme. The items required to fulfil the design brief were:
The data for the annual report and impact assessment was distilled down to several key areas including: key facts; impact study methodology; impact on individuals; impact on institutions; impact on sector; impact on society; range and diversity and the major benefits of the programme. The team at Digitaloft prepared and distilled the study data for the annual report design and it was then down to Quentin James Design founder and lead graphic designer Quentin James to visualise the content in a simple, easy to digest visual style.
“We’re happy to source and supply, high quality, competitively priced print for our clients. However, should the client simply require final, press ready artwork, we’re happy to provide all the necessary digital files.”
Despite Quentin James Design being experienced in sourcing and supplying final print, this ten page ‘Z fold’ annual report design and impact assessment would be printed and distributed in Bangladesh. As our graphic designer Quentin commented: “We’re happy to source and supply, high quality, competitively priced print for our clients. However, should the client simply require final, press ready artwork, we’re happy to provide all the necessary digital files, direct to them or their chosen print supplier. In this instance, the artwork was prepared to the current internationally recognised PDF print standards and the ten page annual report design was printed in Bangladesh without any issues or errors.”
Upon the successful completion of the annual report design and impact assessment, we then designed and produced the accompanying PowerPoint presentation and Infographic design, thus fulfilling the original brief, on time and on budget.
